Or maybe: Russia is testing the disappearance of the President in Belarus? Tsarist Russia has already practiced the disappearance of political figures in its history to test the public reaction. It involved keeping a person in confinement for a while and watching who reacted and what the scale of the reaction was. If they came to the conclusion that the reactions were beyond the capabilities of the tsarist police, they released such a person. If it comes to the conclusion that they can control the social reaction, such a person disappears for real. Lukashenko has not appeared in public since Friday's visit to Russia, which may mean that he will not return or that Russia is testing Belarusian society and putting it to the test. Such behavior means that Russia is preparing to annex Belarus and is not entirely sure how big the opposition is there. This may be a chance for Belarus to break out into independence, because Russia is not fully able to assess the risks if it undertakes risky tests with Lukashenko. But it may also be the beginning of the process of Russification of Belarus. Much will now depend on the reaction of the Western world and the Belarusian nation.
